About This Project

In 2013 the Medici Villas of Tuscany were inscribed on the World Heritage List of Unesco.

Villa Ambra in Poggio a Caiano is one of the most incredible examples of Renaissance architecture.
Its construction was planned on commission of Lorenzo the Magnificent who entrusted with the task a capable architect: Giuliano da San Gallo.

Why should you visit this site Unesco?
Because of its location in a worderful park along the Ombrone river. Here you will appreciate the great botanical collections of the Medici family and the wonderfully frescoed monumental apartments on the first floor. You will discover how they used to spend their free time, you will find out intrigues and some gossip regarding several members of the family.

This experience combines the visit to the Villa and to Still life Museum, an extraordinary collection of  to still life and naturalistic paintings from the collections belonging to the Medici family.
